Same WiP's Different Wednesday

Happy WiP Wednesday!  (Click the button to see the others linking to WiP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced!) So many projects, so little time, right?  Sadly, most of the wips from last week are still wips this week.  There is one exception.  I finished the baby quilt this morning!  Just in time, too.  The baby was born last night and I cannot wait to meet her and give her the quilt made just for her!

This quilt is made up of cottons and flannel with some minky thrown in on the back.  I was so pleased at how easy it was to use when I first tried it that I decided to use the left over fabric on this quilt.  I love it!  It is so soft and snuggly for a little one.  I hope she gets lots of use out of it.
I also worked on a little project that came to me mostly finished.  I was gifted some old fabric that included these little bibs with french knot lambs.

I added some pink ric-rac, pretty pink fabric on the back and some more pink topstitching to finish it off.  I like the results.  I have two more plain ones that I will dress up for the ladies at church to use for gifts.

All this plus the projects from last week:  the Valentines table runner that I started last year is still in progress,

this quilt now has its fourth and final row added:

This quilt is very large (I'll have to measure) and it has quite a bit of white space so I'm not sure how to quilt it.  It will surely take some pondering to decide.  Any ideas for me?  Do you think this would be a good candidate for tying?  I've always wanted to tie a quilt.

Lastly, I'm still working on some Valentine themed projects.  Plus I have one or two that I'd like to start.  And I'm working on my "One Little Word" embroidery still.  Not much progress there.  Maybe this week?

How are your projects coming along?  I'd love to know I'm not the only one who gets stuck and puts projects aside for a year before looking at them again!  Be well, dear Readers and good luck with your projects!  God Bless you!

WIP Wednesday

Keeping track of projects is a very good thing.  If I hadn't been looking through some items I may have never found the Trip Around the World that I started last year and gave up on because it has a bit of a wave on one side.  This (Rather, a new version of this) is going to be my "everything" quilt.  I'm so excited to get this going that I'm tempted to start the new one right away!  But, as you can see from the other photos above, I have several projects yet to be completed.  I decided to add one more row of Granny's to the Granny Square Quilt.  That will make it a 4 block x 4 block quilt.  Square.  That is not my favorite but I think it will work best for this one.   And I did actually have a wee bit of a start on something new.  Just a few buttons for a Valentine's project I would like to make.  Stickers and buttons.  Does that even count as starting?  The other project taking up my free time is a little embroidery for this years word.  I'll show that another time as I forgot to take a photo of it.  Hopefully, I'll be taking finish photos real soon.  That is a lot of sewing, right?  Do you have that many projects going at once?

I should go get busy on one of these!  Have a wonderful, blessed, peaceful, piece-ful :) day!

Weekend Progress

Cleaning and organizing my sewing space was high on my priorities list for the weekend.  I'm happy to report that I got it (mostly) finished!  This was my first finish of the weekend.  The bottom picture is, hopefully obviously, the before shot.

Finishing this quilt was by far my most important project to finish up.  I had told myself I would be done by Friday but after removing stitches yet again, I finally had to put it down and work on something else.  I cannot adequately express my sheer joy at finishing this quilt!  I've had blocks since September and once it was started, well, lets just say that it is a huge accomplishment for me!  I hope it gets a happy home when it goes out to someone in need.  Thanks so much to the ladies of the Peace Circle of do.Good Stitches.  This was a nice quilt and I'm happy with the result...I hope you all like it, too!  For February's quilt, I'm going with something super simple and so super scrappy.  I think it will be fun!

How was your weekend of sewing/organizing/relaxing?  Here's to another wonderful week!  God bless!

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.~Ephesians 2:1

2013 WIP Wednesday #1

I'm so excited for this brand new year!  So many possibilities and opportunities.  And sewing projects!
I have compiled a list of what I want to finish and what I would like to make in this new year.  I've only started one new project (just a wee embroidery) so that I can focus on some of the works in progress from 2012 and mark them off the list!  That red and aqua quilt is for do.Good Stitches and it will be finished and in the mail by Friday...I've promised myself!  I think I'll photograph my list of "to-finish" projects and put it up here so that I can keep track visually and get them done one by one.  That's a good idea, I think.

On my list is to keep up with WiP Wednesday over at Freshly Pieced so that I can keep track of my progress on all these projects through the year.  And don't you just love the new button?  I do!  Linking up for the first WW of the new year!  Use the link to head over and check it out...if you're not already there!

Have a great week and as always, may God bless you!

Looking Ahead

Happy New Year!  I sure hope your Christmas was wonderful and your 2013 is blessed!

I have been admiring all of the posts with mosaics of projects from the past year, especially this one and this one. I wanted to make one but instead I worked on this blog and decided to look ahead.  I have so many projects to finish.  I'm planning on taking inventory in the next day or so to decide what to work on first and also to look ahead to projects that I want to make in this new year.  This is so exciting!  As new years always are!

I'll be having a finished project or two also to post about and I'm anxious for those to be done.  For now I'm going to try to pretty up this blog a bit.  I'm really hoping to get back to some kind of normal now that the holidays are over.  By normal I mean I hope to get some sewing done.  Some cleaning, too.

Be well and God bless!
